🌟 Exciting News, Seminole! 🌟

Hey, Team Seminole!

I've got some incredible news to share with you all that's close to my heart. Our fellow Seminole-resident, Lisa Tiger, is making a triumphant return to the workforce as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), and it's all thanks to a collaborative effort with my fantastic legislative assistant, Carol Sommer.

Lisa faced some tough times when her nursing license got held up due to back tax issues. Now, let me tell you, I couldn't just sit back and watch a valuable member of our community struggle. We rolled up our sleeves and got to work!

With the recent change in Oklahoma law—House Bill 1956, effective Nov. 1—we've made a significant impact. Instead of license revocation, the Oklahoma Tax Commission is now using wage garnishment for delinquent taxpayers. This change not only helped Lisa but also brought relief to over 9,000 licensed nurses in our state.

Lisa's situation shed light on a much larger problem, and it became clear that we needed to spread the word about this transformative law. It's not just about nurses—it applies to all state licenses, giving thousands of Oklahomans a chance to get back to work in their professions.

Lisa's words hit hard: "Rep. Williams actually listened to me and intervened. That made all the difference."

I'm particularly thrilled about the positive impact this will have on our healthcare facilities. Nurses, like Lisa, are the heartbeat of our healthcare system, often the difference between life and death for patients. This change is not just a win for individuals like Lisa, but a blessing for our community and our overstressed healthcare facilities.
